International Day for Tolerance

In 1996, the UN General Assembly invited UN Member States to observe the International Day for Tolerance on 16 November. Tolerance recognises the universal human rights and fundamental freedoms of others. People are naturally diverse; only tolerance can ensure the survival of mixed communities in every region of the globe.

Use our KS2 lesson ‘Cultural diversity in the UK‘ to celebrate our diverse communities. At KS1 you could use our lesson ‘I am unique‘.
