Online teacher training
Thanks to the Pears #iwill Fund, we've created an free one hour online training course on the importance of social action and how to introduce the topic to children. The bite-size activities in this one hour course are designed to introduce you to 'social action' and explain the value and benefit of running community projects with primary aged children. The training content is a mixture of text to read and digest; answering questions about video clips; completing short quizzes; and watching presentations. There are handouts for all key points. Copies of presentations can be downloaded and used again later. What’s more, this course is certified by the CPD Standards Office and validated as contributing to one hour’s CPD. This FREE one hour CPD certified online training course is an introduction to using social action to improve community spaces, and aims to support adults working with groups of children and young people to help them make positive changes to the places where they live, in order to make them more welcoming and accessible to all. Suitable for educators across the age ranges, this short course provides you with an overview of SMSC and the importance of Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural education in our schools. Our popular social action programme for primary aged pupils is now available online thanks to funding from the Pears Foundation and #iwill campaign. It includes a four hour training course for teachers packed with activities and suggestions of how to deliver child-led community projects with children in your school.
