Anti-Bullying Week Competition
For Anti-Bullying Week 2011, Go-Givers highlighted cross-curricular opportunities for taking conflict situations from the playground and classroom into a wider societal context, tackling all forms of bullying such as name-calling, exclusion, racism, homophobia, cyberbullying, among others. The Go-Givers Anti-Bullying Week story competition built on the Anti-Bullying Alliance theme of ‘Stop and think – words can hurt’, giving young minds the opportunity to focus on the harmful effects of verbal abuse and name-calling. We received and overwhelming 586 stories, poems and comic strips from schools all over the country, many showing empathy, maturity and creativity.
